Here are a couple quick picks from my post Christmas hike in the woods in Montclair. Who knew there were graffiti elves in the forest?
I’ve been taking some vacation time over the holidays… hoping to get back on my game in the New Year… postings will likely be sporadic till then.
wow – just found your blog via the ‘grand lake’ wordpress tag – this is so sweet! great photos! gnarly coverage of oakland artscene! so rad. bookmarked 🙂
May I ask where this is?
I see you tagged it as “montclair” and “oakland hills,” buuuut that’s still so vague!
Thanks!

Hmm… it’s a bit tricky. I was hiking in Joaquin Miller Park with a friend when we came upon this. I’ve checked the trailmap and I believe that this building is the Sinawik Cabin. It was shuttered long ago and there are actually city plans to have the structure removed.
You can find it on the steep little connector trail between the Palos Colorados and Sunset Trails. See map here. We accessed the trails from Castle Drive.
Good luck!
